STEM
Atom", "Adam?", "Atom", "Adam?", "Atom","Adam?".... This week will be the smallest lesson we've had yet. We'll be talking about the building blocks that make up the physical world, atoms. What are they? How do they make us and what makes them?

After talking about waves we could only see (light/EM) and waves we could only hear (sound) we'll be looking at waves that involve all our senses. The Ocean! How does the Ocean make waves? How is it similar to sound and light waves? How is it different? STEM
This week we are looking at light and all that it really is! This includes not just the rainbow and how it works, but the ‘invisible’ spectrum too (ultra-violet/infrared). STEM We will be doing a live "experiment" around sound waves and vibration. I hope it resonates! See you at the Zoom conference on Thursday at 10:00am. STEM
In an effort to utilize the T in STEM (Technology), we will be doing a live experiment during our zoom meeting together. Any necessary materials will be sent out via See-Saw prior to class. Mr. Wienecke will have a Zoom conference on Thursday at 10:00 am. His Zoom ID# is
993-664-6166. STEM We will be talking about potential and physical energy. What’s the difference and when does one become the other. Tuesday: Cute video about energy and work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7lB_6O8lH8 Song about energy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uLSFigtLKg Video about energy types :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqV5L66EP2E Thursday: Types of energy explained :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8atIc3XixY Video showing types of energy in a roadrunner cartoon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1Co05YaqtQ Check Seesaw for assignments! 2nd/3rd: In Stem this week we will be reviewing concepts about electricity, magnets and introducing the electromagnetic field. How do they work together besides making
a new big word? Each student has been sent seeds with the rest of their school supplies. We will be discussing all the necessary parts to successful plant cultivation including soil type, spacing, watering, and nutrient requirements. They are welcome to plant them wherever is most convenient and keep track of their progress. Later we will cover the topics of thinning, trimming and hopefully picking but for today we will just cover the first steps towards turning your thumb green!
