Writing This week you will finish the two paragraphs we have been working on. If you have not finished your rough drafts, you will need to do that. Add a concluding sentence to each of your paragraphs. Remember a concluding sentence wraps up your paragraph. Your concluding and topic sentences should have the same meaning and you might be able to switch them. Take a picture of your rough draft on SeeSaw to send to me. I will edit it. You will need to rewrite it on a piece of notebook paper as your published piece. Take a picture and send it to me on SeeSaw. Your rough draft is due Thursday. Your published piece is due Friday. Writing Paragraphs checklist: -paragraph is indented -all sentences begin with a capitol letter and end with appropriate punctuation -paragraph has a good topic sentence -paragraph has three supporting sentences and two extra detail sentences -paragraph has a good concluding sentence Literacy Nonfiction text Wednesday Good nonfiction readers use text features to warm up for the reading ahead. 2.RL.5 2.RL.6 -Watch the mini-lesson video: Lesson 1 - Nonfiction Text Features -Use a nonfiction book from your Supply Bag, one you own, or a nonfiction story from your Reading Street textbook. -Be prepared to show me the table of contents and a page with a heading and subheading during Zoom time at 10:00 am. -If you are unable to Zoom, use SeeSaw to take a picture of a page with the Table of Contents and a picture of a page with a heading and subheading. Thursday Good nonfiction readers learn more by using an explaining voice. 2.RF.4 -Watch the mini-lesson video: ELA Lesson 2 - Explaining Voice -Use the nonfiction book from yesterday. -Be prepared to read two pages to me during our Zoom time at 10:00 am.
